Speaker Biographies



Stephen Chen has been a pastor at Redeemer Bible Fellowship since 2008. He obtained his M.Div. and Th.M. from The Master's Seminary. He and his wife Shirley are both UCLA alumni, hoping their children will join them as Bruins one day. Though passionate about preaching the gospel, and a lover of good biographies, Stephen also finds time for good coffee and watching NBA games.   


Tom Sugimura is the founding pastor of New Life Church in Woodland Hills. He is a graduate of The Master’s Seminary (M.Div., Th.M.) and Southern Seminary (D.Min.). His passion is to equip disciple-makers and biblical counselors in the local church and around the world. He and his wife, Amanda, have four children: Trevor, Jordan, Peyton, and Madelyn.


Eric Chabaneix has been a pastor of Pillar Baptist Church in Fremont, California since 2009. A graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB), he holds an M.Div (2006) and a Th.M (2009) from the Master’s Seminary. Eric grew up in the Bay Area peninsula and met his wife Jennifer in Santa Barbara while pursuing his bachelor’s degree. After his studies, Eric and Jennifer returned to the Bay Area in 2009 to minister and start a family. Eric and Jennifer enjoy the company of friends, reading, and traveling with their daughter, Noah and their son, Evan. Eric is passionate about preaching the gospel and discipleship. He also enjoys the biblical languages and church history.


Danny Bae has been a pastor at Pillar Baptist Church since 2011. As a native of Northern California he earned his degrees from The University of California Santa Barbara (B.A.) in Business Economics and The Master’s Seminary (M.Div. & Th.M.). Before joining Pillar Baptist Church, Danny ministered in Southern California for 9 years. He is married to his wife Deborah, an occupational therapist in the Fremont Unified School District. Along with their daughter Camilla, they enjoy spending time with friends, eating good food, and cheering for the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Lakers.


Nam Park is a lifelong Southern California resident who grew up in Gardena and studied at UCLA. He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior during his first year of college. His calling to enter seminary came a few years later. He has had the privilege of working in youth ministry, college ministry, singles ministry, and is currently the senior pastor of Immanuel Bible Church. In describing IBC’s purpose, Nam states, “Our ministry emphasizes the inerrant and inspired Word of God as the final authority for life and doctrine. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles, just fundamental Bible teaching and instruction. Our goal is to build a family oriented church for three generations of God-fearing Christians.” Nam received his B.A. from UCLA, and M.Div (Master of Divinity) and D. Min (Doctor of Ministry) in Expository Preaching from The Master’s Seminary. Nam ministers with his wife Kathy and children Rebekah, Chloe, Noah, and Micah.
